1. Cześć

This is a basic Polish greeting, most frequently used, and means “hello” or “hi,” and it’s a great way to start a conversation in Polish. But! We also say it to end the conversation, so it can also mean “Bye”.

 

2. Do widzenia

When it’s time to say goodbye, use this phrase, which means “goodbye” in Polish. Do widzenia. Widzieć is a Polish verb for “to see”. So literally that will be “Until we see”.

 

 

3. Tu-Tutaj / Tam

If you’re trying to communicate where something is located, you’ll want to know the Polish words for “here” (tu, tutaj) and “there” (tam). For the word “here” both forms (tu, tutaj) are commonly used and spoken, one is simply longer than the other.

4. Tak

5. Nie

6. Dziękuję

7. Przepraszam

8. Nie ma za co

10. Proszę
